Detailsview 1 itemupdating

While the List View control provides editing support, it requires a bit more work from the page developer to get it going.

The reason is because the List View is defined by templates whereas the Grid View and Details View are defined by fields.

Whenever one of the Edit buttons is clicked a postback ensues and the List View begins its editing workflow. Therefore you cannot provide the color through declarative binding. What I can suggest is to use the Rad Grid's Item_Data Bound server event handler and set the selected color using the code behind where you can do the needed casts as shown below: Hi Jim, in case you haven't gotten the answer yet here's mine. Here was an alternate solution I came up with for multiple color pickers that may save others some time: The Template Field in the Details View: Hope this helps others (including the System.Drawing class would be the more eloquent way of implementing this, but the code provided is strictly for educational purposes) It's a hack until there is a more eloquent solution, but it works for now...

Namely, each field in the Grid View or Details View is rendered in its editing interface; Bound Fields display a Text Box control while Check Box Fields display an enabled checkbox.
